Special Environment Battery
Special environment batteries are packs built for conditions that standard packs cannot handle: water exposure, high temperature, low temperature and explosion-risk environments. HHS Energy lists special environment categories covering high and low temperature, waterproof and explosion-proof packs, and smart battery management systems. This page covers those categories at category level, because no full specification has been verified for an individual special-environment pack.
Waterproof packs are listed with IP67 and IP68 ratings at category level, a step above the IP65 rating stated for the golf cart range. That difference matters: IP65 covers water jets, while IP67 and IP68 cover immersion, which is why waterproof packs suit marine equipment, outdoor devices and equipment that may be submerged. High temperature packs suit equipment that operates in hot environments, and low temperature packs suit equipment that must charge or discharge in the cold. Explosion-proof packs suit environments where a fault must not become an ignition source.
